Can this be a dirty sensor or should the sensor be replaced?

This says the left rear sensor.  Is the sensor a dealer item?  Can it be replaced with the old wiring left in place?

You should try cleaning the sensor and clearing the code first. If you clean the sensor and the code comes back, then you may have to replace the sensor. You can use aftermarket sensor, not just from the dealer.
