2005 Hyundai Elantra 2.0 Liter engine has DTC 0736 incorrect reverse gear ratio. What diagnostic test procedures should be taken first?
Also, the vehicle was just recently serviced by another shop and i was told they did a Transmission Flush. Could this service have caused an incorrect reverse gear ratio?

Hi there,

You really need a scan tool that can see the live data from the input and output shaft speed sensors on the transmission. Basically you get this code if the computer sees the wrong info from either sensor when the car is put into reverse.

The flush may have caused a failure of one of the sensors, otherwise there could be a problem in the transmission itself.
