P0456 Ford - fiesta 2012

P0456  recently got gas the pump over filled my tank.  I have the no cap gas system. Shortly after I moved the car and it smelled like bad gas....Ergo a week later a check engine light.  My question is,  being such a new car with the no cap system how do I check for proper closure?

This code is for the gross evap leak. There could be several things causing this. The best test method is a smoke test to find the location of the leak and then do the repair accordingly. Also, contact Ford as there may be service bulletins for this issue.
