I got gas a few hours prior to my check engine light going on (and off).....I brought the car to get the codes read and it was the po303.  However, I checked the gas cap and clicked it over a few times....check engine light has been off ever since...could that have been it?

P0303 Misfire number 3 cylinder

More than unlikely, the reason you need to have a P0300 (random misfire) then yes it may have been the fuel, but just for one of the cylinder more than unlikely event

The ignition coil are the common causes for a misfire
