i was in a front end a accident with my 2007 mercury mariner, after having $3k in repairs at shop  i get it home and now have a p0460 code. It looks great all new front end ac,rad,hoses,bumper,all new lights ect. but check eng light is now on {never b4} and gas reads almost full, pulled into gas station to top off and it took almost $40? got a P0460 code?  Brian

Hi there,

It sounds like the float might have gotten stuck when the collision happened or there is a wiring issue. It's possible there was damage to the wiring to the sending unit but unlikely. I would pull the fuel pump and sending unit and see if there is any change in the level to start with
