1998 Honda Accord V6 showing code p1706. I am not experienced in vehicle repairs. What does this code mean and how can I repair it myself?

The code is for the transmission range switch. This is the switch mounted on the transmission where the cable meets the transmission. The computer isn't seeing any inputs from the switch. In most cases the switch needs to be replaced to resolve the issue.
