What is the repair for U1000 for 2003 Altima

I have at times had the battery and brake light come on simultaneously. After the smog check the check engine light came on, but the next day went off. I am told my fuel pump is under recall but would that have anything do with the other?

This code is a communication error code between the control modules. This won't have anything to do with the fuel pump module. This is usually a ground issue for the ecm. Most often if you loosen and re tighten the bolts that hold the dash support to the body it will resolve this particular code.
