Question

i have a 2000 outback and i took it autozone because the check engine light is alway flashing fast. Well it read p500,p1100,p1120 and p1540 why the computer going bad on it. the only real problem i have been having is when trying to kick into drive it takes it a few momen ts and it wont pass emissons

P0500 Vehicle speed sensor malfunction

P1100 Starter switch circuit low input

P1120 Starter switch circuit high input

P1540 Vehicle speed sensor malfunction

Check the operation of the speedometer, this would give you a good indication if the vehicle speed sensor is functional, if not replace the  vehicle speed sensor. you have 2 code that point in the direction of a failing vehicle speed sensor
