check engine light was on and cruise light was flashing on my 2006 outback

I have a 2006 Subaru Outback and check engine light was on and the cruise control light was flashing. seemed to run ok. Drove 90 miles and shut it off. Later started it to return home and light was off and cruise worked fine.

Hi there,

Any time the check engine light comes on the cruise control is disabled, this is normal and built into the ecm for safety reasons. As for why the check engine light came on, there really isn't any way to be sure without a code. There won't be a code in the system since the light went out. Everything has returned to normal.
