My transmission is getting up to 200 degrees could this be what's causing it

08 ram 2500 6.7 cummins this DTC code P0707 came up while my transmission is getting hotter than normal it's getting to about 200 degrees when it normally runs about 150 could this be the cause

This code points towards an issue with the transmission range sensor. Though this would not cause your transmission to get hot. Here is some more info regarding this code.
