P1279 2005 Nissan Altima Sedan -

Question

I just put a aftermarket header on my car to alleviate my concerns of the precat on the exhaust manifold i put the 02 sensor back with a spacer but now this code just popped up, i think the spacer is the problem. It's on the lower bung and is approximately 3 inches with a 90 degree angle pointing up. Is this the problem? Should i move it to the upper bung?

Hi there

This code is for the front sensor and yes, if you take it out of the exhaust stream it's going to set a code for slow response. This sensor should be in the exhaust ahead of the converter and no spacer should be needed.
