I just purchased a 2003 Subaru Legacy and I got the engine code P1698

Question

I just purchased a 2003 Subaru Legacy with 100,000 miles.

The check engine light came on and the only code is P1698 and says something about low transmission torque. Any ideas?
It's an automatic transmission that seems to shift ok.

Hi there

This could be a faulty wiring harness between the transmission control module and the engine control module. It's also possible one of these modules has failed.
