My van has recently started doing this.
I was driving uphill on the highway when I started losing power uphill, my service engine light started to blink so as soon as got to the top I turned around and wen home. I left it parked until today and when I accelerated when the stop light turned green it started to blink again.
I hooked up the computer and it told me
"System too lean"
Code " p0453" came up
I'm not a mechanic so I don't really know where this sensor is or what it does but it makes me afraid to take my vehicle out of town.
I would appreciate it if you could tell me what's wrong or what to do, considering this is my only vehicle.
Vehicle: 2003 Pontiac Montana

HI there,

The code is for the fuel tank pressure sensor. Typically this would not cause the running issues you are experiencing. This may be telling you there is another issue happening with the evap system possibly adding fuel to the engine. It sounds like since you aren't a mechanic that you should have it tested by a shop to find the actual issue causing the code and running issue.
