Hi,

Last weekend (Sat. 10/24), I experienced a hard downshift while driving about 15 miles per hour in my 2009 VW Routan when on a freeway on-ramp.

When accelerated to catch up with freeway traffic, my vehicle did not want to shift into a higher gear, I think it was not going into 3rd or 4th gear. I exited the freeway and stopped my vehicle and shut down the engine. BTW, my VW Routan SE model has a Chrysler 3.8L engine.

After restarting and driving the vehicle on side-streets two maybe three times, the shifting into the higher gears began working properly and I drove the rest of the way home (about 40 miles) without any problems - except the Check Engine light came on.

The next morning, I used my vehicle and noticed the Check Engine light had gone off and remains off. It has been 6 days when all this occurred and I've been using my vehicle regularly each day since without incident or problems.

I was informed by our local mechanic that the P0755 code appeared when he plugged in a computerized preliminary check on what occurred.

Question: Do I need to be concerned about and take any action since the Check Engine light is no longer on and the vehicle seems to be working properly? Any advice and guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
Billy
