2000 Mercedes Benz ML430 4.3L with engine code P0442

Question

I have a 2000 Mercedes Benz ML430 4.3L that is registering code P0442. I changed the gas cap and cleared the codes, which reappeared a few hours later. Do you have any recommendations?

The code is for a small evap leak. This leak is so tiny you usually cannot see it without a smoke test. Smoke is pumped into the evap system, then a bright light is used to find the leak. That's what you should do next since the gas cap didn't resolve the problem.
