My check engine light came on and the car was lurching forward while driving 60 mph down the road.  Does this care have a timing belt or a timing chain?  Is it safe to drive to the shop or should I have a tow?  If I drive it will I run the risk of damaging my engine?  What are the possible causes?  How much $ to fix?

P0344 Camshaft sensor intermittent

Timing belt or timing chain? this depends on the engine size, There always a risk when you drive the vehicle regardless if there is a CK ENG LT warning or not.. Right now with the condition you have this type of code having a camshaft sensor intermittent  depending on the cause can and will affect the CKP (crankshaft position sensor) , and this can stall the engine ,  if you can have it towed that would be the best route.
