I have a 1996 Ford f150 4.9L Eddie Bower Edition. I rented a Obd ll tester and it came up with two codes. P-1351 and P1359. what is this and can I use the one I have in my 93 ford f150 XL 4.9 L as a replacement if the part numbers are the same. Where can I go online that will tell me all about this in detail. My problem: I go to start my engine, engine starts, let off of key and engine still trying to catch but doesn't for about 30 seconds and all of a sudden it starts running like its suppose to and it does it only after the engine is warm like when I go to store and come out and try to start it. Replaced plugs, rotor, cap, coil, wires. Only choice left is to replace the Stator Assembly in the distributor.

P1351 Ignition diagnostic monitor circuit input fault

P1359 Spark output circuit

Check for the missing spout, when you check timing for this year make and model the spout has to be removed, unfortunate people forget to re install the spout, what the code you have is a in line spout missing. What the CK ENG LT does not tell is why there is a hard start, both these code will not cause a hard to start engine when its warmed. Re install for the missing spout, without the spout the engine under load tends to jump. If the distributor is faulty the engine as you accelerate tends to buckle, If you have a hard to start engine check the fuel pressure, or better yet do a Key On Engine running test. The inline spout is right near the distributor , this one removed during a timing check unfortunately the owner left it out and CK ENG LT P1351 was set.
