2006 Nissan Maxima SL 3.5L with engine code Code P0420

Question

Would like to know if the P0420 code would have anything to do with the engine revving up @ 2500 RPMs when car is started the first time after sitting up for several hours

No this would not do this but what it would do is harm the engine
