does the fuel rail sensor send a signal to the fuel pump?

I have a 1999 ford E350 v10 6.8 I want to know if the fuel rail sensor tells the fuel pump to pump gas?

Yes it a way the fuel rail pressure sensor does that, what it does is , is increase voltage to the fuel pump when the demands for more fuel is needed,
