P1253 Honda - can this be caused by a leaking distributor seal?

This issue is not caused by the distributor. It is a faulty VTEC solenoid. Since it happens as soon as you turn on the car, I suspect the issue is either the solenoid itself is shorted, or the wiring itself is shorted.
