P2238 Toyota - camry

Hello !! I have a toyota camry 2004 2.4l and I went to scan the car and I found it was the octogenarian sensor and I changed it but afterwards I noticed that the check engine light was still on and the mechanic guy told me that probably the old sensor was good , and most likely there is a problem with one of the wires or it's. Making a false contact ..... So if I changed , what it could be the reason that I have this issue .... Maybe the mechanic is right ?

The code actually means there isn't enough current coming from the sensor to the computer. Its most likely your mechanic is right and there is an issue with the signal wire. If you used a universal sensor that you had to wire in, then it's more likely the wiring issue as these are difficult to wire up.
