P0115 Error - 2002 Toyota Camry

Question

Ju acquire a OBDII scanning tool hence recently sc my 2002 Toyota Camry. Got the code code P0115. Does this have a negative effect on the engine?
I removed the Thermostat 5years ago as advised by my autotechnician that it is not necessary for cars driven in Sub-Saharan Africa because of our Climatic condition.
Please advise

Hi there,

This will not damage the engine however it will affect fuel economy. The engine is not achieving the proper temp, most likely even with your climate the engine is not getting to the normal operating temp. This will affect the emissions and fuel mileage but will not damage the engine.
