Got a P0128. My van is regularly serviced and there are no issues with overheating all levels are good do I need Do I need to have them check everything like the sensor a loose wire or whatever? I took it to pepboys and they said I need a new thermostat. Can they get that information from that code without checking all of the other components?.

Hi there,

If the van isn't overheating and the temp gauge is coming up to the normal range, then there is nothing wrong with the thermostate. You have to test the coolant temp sensor as well as the cooling system with this code.
