I have a 98 F150 5.4 Triton V8 and I'm getting P0352,P0354 & P0355 codes. I tested the connectors and had constant power to the left side on all but #5 cyl. Some of these codes may have been produced when I pulled the connectors on all the coils to see which one would affect the engine. They all did with the exception of #5. The coils are all new and I replaced the plug which the original had some kind of crusty build up and the engine was not affected but the check engine light finally came on with these codes. Since I'm not getting constant power at #5 should I do the continuity test or trace the wire first?

Hi there.

If you are losing power on #5 then it must be traced to find out why. The coil should have a constant power feed, a constant ground the then a signal wire. The signal wire is a ground sent from the computer that makes the coil fire. Loss of voltage indicates a wiring issue to #5.
