2009 PT Cruiser .

I recently discovered that my 2009 PT Cruiser was very low on oil. While driving it the PT Cruiser started jerking and bucking. My question to you is this. Could a car that is low on oil (4 quarts) cause this code to trip P0344? I put 4 quarts in the car and it ran normal.

Hi there,

This is normally an electrical code, but if the car was so low on oil it was jerking, it was probably trying to lock up the engine. This would or could cause the cam timing to jump around which might bring this code up.
