aloha, i was getting diagnostic code 741 so i replaced the torque converter clutch solenoid. This did not fix the problem. While driving, everything seems fine until i go down a steeper longer hill. It feels like the brakes are being automatically applied. The trans sort of jerks like it is switching from high to low. I read in some forums that the torque converter is the next step. I dont mind doing it but i am just curious if any of the other solenoids could be the culprit. It is a 2007 toyota higlander v6. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE: ok, so i finally got it to fail for me. ( the description came from my dad) it seems like when the trans is warmed up, if you hit the brakes hard, the torque converter slams the gears like its locking up. Instantky there is no reverse, and the car lurches when you step on the gas. Once you let it sit everything works fine!?!?!?

Vehicle: 2007, toyota higlander

Hi there,

This code indicates an issue with the torque converter clutch solenoid. If replacing this solenoid hasn't resolved the issue, it's possibly a wiring issue. Here is some more info for you.
