P0457 Subaru -

Question

I have change the fuel cap twice, and the code P0457 keeps comming back after 5 or ten miles.
What would be the next step to look at?

Hi there,

A very common issue that causes this code is the drain valve or vent control valve. When this sticks open it will give you this code. You can remove it from the charcoal canister then test it by adding power and ground to the pins. It should make a clicking type noise. If not, then its frozen and needs to be replaced.
