One of my airbox clip is broken, could it be the reason the light comes on because of an intake air leak?

Any air that gets past the MAF (Mass airflow ) is considered a vacuum leak, What a vacuum leak is is unaccounted for air that is measured by either a MAF sensor or a MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor.

Here is a MAF sensor and the MAF air duct, if air got pass the MAF this would be considered a vacuum leak. So no a clip missing on a airbox is not considered a intake leak
