Does the evap cannister ever release some fuel vapors? albeit scrubbed by the charcoal canister so as not to be too strong an odor? lessen the hydro carbon emissions. And is this continuous as long as the car is running or does it happen also when off...fuel fumes are constant, correct?

Hi there,

The only time the canister releases fuel vapor is when the computer opens the purge control solenoind and sucks the vapors into the intake manifold, otherwise the vapors stay locked in the canister. This prevents the vapors from escaping into the atmosphere.
