P0300 Chevrolet -

Question

Car misfiring, stalls out. Catalytic converter was clogged, removed it and put straight pipe, did not replace sensor. Still misfiring. Would missing sensor in convertor cause misfire and stalling. Car will idle, but backfires.

Hi there,

You have the code because of no converter. This is not the problem. The misfiring caused the converter to melt, so I would look at other issues for the misfire. Plugs, wires, timing and fuel pressure would be the place to start with this.
