I got the code P0744 on my 2004 Nissan Maxima 3.5L

Hello My car is showing A p0744 do i need to replace the transmission or can y do the value body. Because you put the car in drive and it feels like no power. Wean you press on the gas. Because y took the car to aamco and they said the diagnosis they did they found a code p0740 on there computer scan but y plug it in to my scaner and found a p0744 and my mechanic found the same code on his scaner. He told me the code is torque converter cloche solenoid because aamco told me rebuild the transmission but they didn't check if the valve body is good. They Cote me 2127 for 90 day warranty or 2692 12 month unlimited mile warranty. But my gut tells me is the value bodey is 1000 bucks so thats a big difference . The car only had 88000 miles so yea need help because y went to the dealer and told them the code p0744 and they told me the value body needs to be changed
