P0131 Chevrolet - Beat

Question

Hi,

I have a Chevrolet Beat (Petrol) and have been getting this error code lately.

Sometimes, the Check Engine light disappears for days only for it to come back later.

The local mechanics in Mumbai don't understand this fault code and the Chevrolet service center is very expensive.

I am thinking of ordering the oxygen sensor myself online.

Is there anything I should be wary of?

Any other advice?

Hi there,

This code is for the heater circuit inside the O2 sensor, so you could purchase and replace the sensor yourself. It is possible that there is some issue with the wiring to the sensor, but most often the sensor itself is the cause of the problem. Just make sure you order a direct fit sensor and you should be fine.
