cranks good but dont start, battery test good p0342 code

cranks very good but does not start, battery tested good, you can try 2 or 3 times then it cranks, does have engine light...gets P0342 code

Hi there,

The code is for the cam position sensor. If it's not reading then the engine won't start because the computer isn't seeing signal from it. It assumes that the engine is out of time which will damage it. Normally if you don't have a mechanical engine timing issue, then replacing the sensor will resolve the problem.
