P0464 SUBARU - Could it be damageable for the car ?

I got this code appearing and disappearing by itself... is it dommageable for the motor or something ?

P0464 SUBARU - Fuel level sensor intermittent input. You probably need a new fuel sender unit. A bad fuel sender unit should affect or damage the engine.
