Can I check a position or speed sensor with a multi-meter to check if its working or not?

There are three pins on the connector. I measured 1.24. Is this good or bad?

What sensor exactly? the vehicle speed sensor?

Yes, you can check the vehicle speed sensor if is open or not. Some resistance (around 250 ohm) speed sensor is OK, if open then the sensor is bad.

1.2 What volts or ohms? Was it pluged in with the key on or off and do u have a diagnostic chart for that code? Also To check a speed sensor you can put your dvom on a/c volts and operate the vehicle with drive wheels off the ground and measure the ac voltage. If no voltage ohm the sensor if its good you will get an ohm reading with your meter set to 20k ohms.
