P0340 1999 Ford F150 -

I have a 4.2L and the code is po340 but how do you know if the synchronizer is bad.

P0340 Camshaft position sensor circuit malfunction

If the camshaft sensor is out of timing you would set a P0171 and or a P0174 these are lean Bank codes. You would also know when the sensor is bad when you come up to a stop and the engine just stall out,
