P0720 2000 Infiniti G20 - Stops shifting randomly until engine restart

Question

My 2000 G20 posts this error number and I replaced the sensor, it went away for a few weeks and then came back on. Now at completely random times the transmission won't shift out of 2nd. When I turn the engine off and back on it begins working again and this can last for days. Any idea what may be causing this?

Hi there,

A weak battery can cause this code to appear with this car. Also, make sure the wiring is in good shape. Since it runs under the battery it is possible there is a problem with the wiring itself being corroded.
