Could having a new battery installed be involved with this code P0700

P0700 Transmission control system (MIL requested)

No not at this year vehicle, The older model had to have a battery quick relearn procedure, or you would set a P0700 . The only reconnection learn that has to be perfromed is a Battery reconnection for the ESP (electronic stability program) . When you have P0700 you need a scan tool that can read the stored code in the TCM (tranmission control module). Since the battery was disconnected perform the ESP / BAS calibration

If the vehicle has a ESP / BAS you need to perfrom the calibration

1. Start the engine

2.Center the steering wheel.

3.Turn the steering wheel all the way to the left intil the internal stop in the steering gear is met.Then turn the wheel all the way to the right  until the opposite internal stop in the steering gear is met

4.Center the steering wheel

5.Stop the engine

6. Finished.
