P0440 Buick -Century Model year 2000

Question

My code reads p440 1/2 slight air leak detected when cleared does not reset for some months. I thought it maybe cranking to soon before it had run its own sensor check as it only appears to set on start up but I cannot make it happen when I try. Any tips would be welcome.
