P0041 - How do I fix this on my 2007 Pontiac G6?

My engine light has been on for a month or so. I had a diagnostic test done and the codes P0041 and P0420 come up. Is there anything that I can check, that may not require me to replace anything? If so, where do I find it?

Hi there,

I do not show a code P0041 for this car with that engine. The code P0420 is for the catalytic converter not working properly. Chances are the car will need a new converter to solve the code. It would have to be checked with a scan tool to be 100% certain. The live data on the rear O2 sensor can tell you if the converter is bad or not.
