2001 Saab 9-5 gives P0705 code AFTER I took the unit out to clean it for it stranding its driver for short periods when the engine was hot. I don't recall there being any check engine light or trans light before this. the car was running otherwise fine. After my work, the code began, and the car is in a limp mode seemingly in 4th gear no matter if first gear is selected or not.

So I thought perhaps my cleaning created a new problem, bought both a code reader and a new neutral safety switch. The new one now gives the identical code too.... no change, so it appears as if its not the switch mechanism itself now. most info online and from the code reader says its either the switch or faulty wiring. It has a connector but I don't know if it should be cleaned or if this would be involved. Seems to me after pulling the connector apart and putting it back 3 times, at least one of those times it would have worked, at least temporarily.

A lot of talk of people with Saab 9-5s and 9-3s with this code, but nothing I can find on the wiring or connector. Help!

Vehicle: 2001 Saab 9-5, auto, with 2.3 low pressure turbo
