1998 Nissan frontier 4wd 2.4 has code P0500 ... replaced speed sensor... not working... what next

I did some research on the cluster panel and found a site that said to remove the cluster and try to tighten the screw on the back labled 2P... I actually tightened all of them but no results... do you think it might be the ECM?

Hi Bruce,

On these it's important to check the wirng harness where it goes over the transmission for the speed sensor. Just tightening the screws on the speedo head doesn't always solve the issue. Since you have already replaced the speed sensor, if the wiring from the transmission looks good, then I would replace the cluster next. The ecm is rarely the issue with this code.
