can this be just a float fault?

I took my vehicle for inspection and received this code as well as P0463, they are saying the catalyst needs to be replaced, I was looking at the description of P0463 and noticed it has the sensor involved, Question is when fueling my vehicle I have to stop short of fuel or it sprays out could there possibly be a fault just with the float?

HI there,

These are 2 different issues all together. The P0430 does indicate there is a problem with the catalytic converter, and there float in the tank is causing the P0463, or more then likely it is. So, if you are looking to repair the float in the tank and not do anything with the converter code, this isn't going to help.
