Car will not start. code p0137. Will a bad oxygen sensor keep a car from starting?

Usually a bad O2 sensor will not prevent the car from starting. Start with the basics, check for spark and fuel. A simple test can be to spray some carb cleaner or starting fluid into the throttle body and crank the engine. If the car fires off the starting fluid then you know there is spark and no fuel. If there is nothing at all when you crank then you will know there is no spark. This is a quick test to determine which system to troubleshoot.
