P0118 Engine coolant temperature circuit high input

Circuit high condition is when there is a disconnection such as a open wire to that sensor, What happening is the ECM does not see what the temperature is at. If you read the temperature with a scan tool the coolant temperature would read 40 degrees F.

 It always important to check the terminal mating connection, such as this intake temperture sensor connection, Terminal mating connection tens to spread out, resulting in poor connection.
