P0455 code what is the fix on my 1997 Mazda Protege?

This code is for a gross evap leak.This means a large leak in the evap system.In most cases this is a loose or missing fuel cap or one of the hoses for the evap system has come off. Also the vent valve could be stuck open. Best thing to do is have a smoke test performed to try and find the leak.
