Will this cause the engine to not start when hot ??

Hi there,

This is a possibiity. If the purge solenoid is stuck open, then you might be getting fuel vapors from the canister into the intake when the van is sitting hot. If this is the case then it's essentially flooding the van when you go to start it. Try holding the pedal to the floor when you crank the engine and see if it starts easier.
