P0443 trouble code 99 dodge durango

My 1999 Dodge Durango is showing a P0443 trouble code. My scan tool says Evaporative Emission System Purge Control Valve Circuit. What does this mean?

Hi there,

In most cases this means the purge solenoid is not working properly. The puge solenoid opens when the truck is running at certain speeds. When this opens it pulls the fuel vapors from the charcoal canister using manifold vacuum.
