P0172 Hyundai -

Question

my accent is running great, no problem. But engine check light came on, tested code p0172 came up bank 1 running rich. plugs not black. what could it be

P0172 Fuel trim too rich Bank 1

Some of the cause that can set a rich fuel trim would be plugged air filter that would prevent the engine from taking in fresh air. A faulty MAF sensor or even a coolant temperature sensor not reporting the correct engine temperature. due to coolant leak or just low coolant level.

 One of the main cause for a P0172 when it comes to a Hyundai is the PCV valve and its  hose. A mafunction PCV valve will set a rich running condition as well as the PCV hose.
