P2425 Dodge -

Question

hello,

I got a trouble code P2425 Exhaust Gas ReCircuitulation Cooling Valve Control Circuit/Open_ on my 2008 dodge charger 5,7L what does it mean? do i have a bad EGR valve? Can any body help?

P2425 when it comes on a Dodge it very confusing, it would better to use another scan tool that can read Dodge/ Chrysler products. It usually seen on Dodge Chargers and code especially at freeway speed according to the freeze frame. so would seem like it a EGR being circuit high. Use a different scan tool and read its generic code setting,

 This Dodge came in with a P2425, since its a EGR code the the EGR was replaced, the code came back as again as P2425. When using a different scan tool , and access  ECM generic code setting  it was P0171 which was a lean fuel trim code. only to find out it was missing the oil cap to begin with.
